The project will include full reconstruction of underground utilities (sanitary sewer, water main, and storm sewer) as well as full reconstruction of the roadway, including curb & gutter, sidewalks, landscaping and street lighting, etc. Through the downtown, the work will extend from building face to building face. The work will also include replacement of sewer and water services between the mains in the street and the fronts of the buildings. Because we are in the early stages of the project, most of the design details are still yet to come. However, over the next 12 to 18 months and beyond, there will be much more information shared about the project, as well as multiple opportunities to see what is planned. There will be opportunities to attend open house meetings and to offer input on the design of the project.
At this time, the City of New Prague, along with the City’s consulting engineer (Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. “SEH”), have just begun investigative work in preparation of a preliminary design report. Survey crews have been out surveying the area to establish existing conditions and to identify the highway right-of-way.
